Recently, ShowFX lit the skies of Thailand for His Royal Majesty, Bhumibol Adulyadej. Creative Designer Anthony Foti produced a unique soundtrack and choreographed show entitled “Swinging Fireworks” after discovering through research that His Royal Majesty is an accomplished jazz musician and composer. Inspired by this Anthony & the team at ShowFX designed a dazzling pyromusical exhibition blending colours, rhythms and effects with style and sophistication to a combination of Jazz, Swing and Big Band Music. Tunes included pieces from The Atomic Fireballs, Glen Miller, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Cab Calloway, Les Brown, Al Hirt and music from the movie Chicago.
Some FX Facts:
- 1167 individual cues were programmed using 90 pyrodigital firing modules.
- 1800 fireworks took to the sky with a grand total of 3490 shots.
- 9 positions of low level and 5 positions of high level aerial shells.
- 90 different effects ranging from small 30mm fireworks to the largest at 200mm!
The ShowFX crew consisting of Anthony Foti, Mark Pinkerton, Brad List and Simon Kellett set the show over 3 days of searing 35 degree heat. All the products for the event were custom built in Melbourne, Victoria! The highlight of the night was an award presented by the Prime Minister of Thailand Surayud Chulanon recognising the contribution of ShowFX.
