Allan Spiegel - Director
Allan founded ShowFX in 1995 and has grown the business to become one of Australia’s most progressive fireworks & special effects companies. A fully qualified, highly experienced pyro technician in his own right, Allan is well regarded within the fireworks and events industry.
He was the winner of the 2000 Telstra Young Heroes Award and has successfully delivered many displays in Australia and around the world. His focus is on designing, producing and delivering innovative & quality fireworks displays and special effects to a range of clients.
Des Lawton - Director
Des has been in the industry for 30 years and is well regarded for his skills and talents. He has managed some of Australia’s largest fireworks displays including eight Sky Shows, several of the Moomba shows and even the Hong Kong Handover.
Des has competed and worked in many countries including Japan, Canada and Papua New Guinea.
Anthony Foti - Creative Designer
Anthony is the seventh generation in his family to be part of the fireworks industry. He is fully qualified and experienced in high explosives and display fireworks Australia wide.
Anthony worked on the opening and closing ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympics, assisted in the fireworks display on the NYE celebrations at Sydney Harbour Bridge and supported Grucci in the APEC summit in Shanghai in 2001.
Sharon Kellett - Financial Controller
Sharon has been part of the ShowFX team from its birth in 1995. She brings over 20 years experience to the financial operations of the business.
Phil Zuppardo - Preparation Technician
Phil joined the team in 2002 and is responsible for the preparation of outdoor fireworks displays, stock control and equipment maintenance at ShowFX’s Sunbury workshop. He can occasionally be seen assisting with indoor pyrotechnics and special effects displays at the North Melbourne office.
Bob Sorich - Technician
Considered the ShowFX ‘Myth Buster’, Bob has 30 years theatre industry experience in the area of technical production ranging from lighting, sound and set construction. He loves the challenge of building unique things and developing new ides to produce bigger & better shows!
Nick Burcul - Pyrotechnician
Nick started his career at the Conrad Jupiter’s Theatre on the Gold Coast where he worked as a lighting technician for six years. In October of 2007 nick joined the ShowFX team and relocated to Melbourne where he works as Logistics Coordinator and Pyrotechnician.
Tristan Hadden
Tristan’s career in providing special effects spans almost 20 years, beginning in fireworks manufacturing then moving to show production as a pyrotechnician.
With a speciality in indoor and close proximity pyrotechnic effects, Tristan has been a part of some of the largest domestic and international films, telemovies, TV series and commercials ever made. His body of special effects and pyrotechnic work includes Farscape, the Matrix, Ghostrider and Stealth.
Tristan has been working with Show FX since 2006, providing his expertise to events such as Moomba and the FINASwimming Championships and is the Sydney based representative of the company.
